Advanced options

Scoring by:

  1. Select if you would like to score by Row or by Question. By default the system enters 1 point for each row. Each row can be adjusted to the desired total points. By scoring by Question you can only adjust the amount of total points for the question. The possibility to score by row will not be available anymore.
  2. Scoring type: select Polytomous or Dichotomous. When selected polytomous the student will score points when a certain part of the question is correct (total row needs to be correct in relation to the total question). Polytomous does not score parts of the row (meaning per cell). When selected dichotomous all rows need to be correct to score the maximum points for this question.
  3. Feedback on questions: Feedback set per question can be displayed during a candidate review, or in a formative exam. Here feedback can be displayed after answering a question or at the end of the exam. You can choose between general or detailed feedback.
  4. Sections: by default Handle empty cells as 0 is selected. If the student does not provide an answer for a cell the sytem will score automatically with 0 (zero).
  1. Choose General if you want to display general feedback.
  2. Select Show feedback on question to enter feedback for the correct and incorrect answers.
  1. Choose Detailed if you want to give detailed feedback.
  2. Select Show feedback on question to enter feedback for the correct and incorrect answers.

Notepad

The candidates can use the notepad to clarify their provided answer. These notes will be stored and can be viewed during the marking process.

Select Allow notepad for candidates to allow candidates to have the possibility to argue or calculate their answer.

While compiling the exam you have the option to allow the notepad for all questions, none or for all of the selected questions. Please discuss your preferences with the faculty coordinator.
