This manual only talks about the options in Groups that are unique to sections. Take a look at these manuals for more information about the Groups function and creating groups.
You can create groups within a section. Only students in that section, can be added to groups within the section. In groups that make use of self-enrolment, students also only see groups within their own section, and can only enrol in these groups.
To create groups, select Groups in the Administration menu in the navbar of your course. You'll end up on the Manage Groups page.
- On the Manage Groups page, click New Category.
- Under Restrict Enrolments To, choose the section(s) for which you want to create groups. Brightspace will only enrol the members of the section(s) you select. The other options, such as Enrolment Type and Number of Groups, work exactly as they would when creating 'regular' groups. Take a look at this manual for more information.
To create groups for each section, you will need to repeat the steps above for each section.
