Recording the meeting automatically
When creating a meeting, you will see the option to record the meeting automatically. Automatically recording a meeting can be useful if you are new to Teams and want to make sure that the meeting is recorded.
- When creating a meeting, turn on Record automatically.
If you enable Record automatically, the recording starts when the meeting starts. Sadly, it is not possible to pause a recording with this option turned on.
Manually start the recording
- Click the three dots More.
- Click Record and transcribe.
- Click Start recording.
When a recording starts, it also automatically starts a transcription. A transcription is a written version of the sound recordings, so you can more easily read and understand these afterwards.
You can stop the transcription like this:
- Click the three dots More.
- Click Record and transcribe.
- Click Stop transcription.
Stop the recording
You can stop the recording in the same way as stopping the transcription. Instead of Stop transcription, choose the option Stop recording.
Retrieving the recording
The recording is saved on the personal OneDrive of whoever started the recording.
- Go to the tab My files.
- Next, open the map Recordings.
If OneDrive is synced to your laptop, you can find the recording in your Windows Explorer or Finder (Mac).
- Go to the map OneDrive – Radboud Universiteit.
- Next, open the map Recordings.
Please note: the recordings that are saved on the OneDrive are available for up to 60 days. After that, they are permanently deleted.
Please note: the recording can also be found in the meeting chat by all participants of the meeting. If the meeting is moved, it will no longer be available through the chat.
How do I share a recording on Brightspace?
If OneDrive is synced to your laptop, you can find the recording in your Windows Explorer or Finder in the folder OneDrive – Radboud Universiteit and then in the folder Recordings. There is no need to download the recording. You can immediately go through the steps in the manual How do I add videos and other media to my course with Kaltura?
If you have not synced your OneDrive, you will first need to download the recording via your web browser. The recording can be found in My files and then in the map Recordings.
