Using Teams Meetings on a lecture hall computer

Updated on

This manual assumes that you have created a Teams meeting at an earlier stage and that you have a link either in your calendar or a Brightspace course. Important is that in a lecture hall you can't use the Teams app, but you have to use the browser version in stead.

Sign in in the web version of Teams. You do this as follows:

Start a meeting from your calendar

  • In Teams, click on the calendar icon in the bar on the left.
  • In the calendar, open the meeting you created, click Join.

The meeting will now start.

Start a meeting from Brightspace

In Brightspace, click on the link to the meeting.

Your browser will ask you if you want to open the Teams app. Click Cancel.

Click Continue in this browser to open Teams Meetings in the browser.

Set microphone and camera

Before you enter an online meeting, you will get the opportunity to choose the right microphone and camera.

Click on the geer wheel.

Below Microphone, select the microphone you want to use. Choose one of the following options, depending on the lecture room you're in:

  • Microphone (Samson UB1)
  • Microphone  (Yealink UAC2 CORTANA)
  • Microphone  (Yealink UVC40)
  • Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Logitech MeetUp Speakerphone).

Below Camera, select the camera you want to use. Choose one of the following options, depending on the lecture room you're in:

  • Yealink UVC30 Camera
  • Yealink UVC40 Camera
  • Yealink UVC84 Camera
  • Yealink UVC86 Camera
  • Logitech MeetUp

You can also change these settings during the online meeting. To select the right camera, click on the camera symbol at the top right of your screen. To select the right microphone, click on the microphone symbol at the top right of your screen.

Sign out

When you're finished with the meeting it is important you sign out of Teams, zo no other user using the same lecture hall can access your Teams environment.

  • In Teams, click on your name in the upper right corner.
  • Choose Sign Out.
  • Close the browser.

The webcam and microphone are standard connected to the desktop computer, if you want to use your own device you can connect the yellow labeled usb cables to your device.
When you’re finished, you must reconnect it to the fixed PC.
