Target: You will be able to register the assessment of a thesis within Osiris Case (Osiris Zaak)
For: Thesis assessor / - reader / - supervisor 1 and 2 @ the Faculty of Arts
This Case consists of two separate activities, with the possibility of an interval of a few days between them:
1.) Both assessor/reader 1 and 2 submit their assessments individually via Osiris Case.
2.) Assessor 1 and 2 have their Consensus Meeting (if both assesment grades differ less than 1,5 point). Assessor 1 fills and submits a report of this Consensus meeting and signs the final grade.
Login to Osiris as usual. You should see a Thesis assessment task which the student assigned to you. Click on it. :
When the student upload their Thesis it will be automatically send to the plagiarism scan tool Turnitin. On your Task page the outcome of this scan will be shown as the last item under Documents and forms (picture below). See this Turnitin manual for info on reading this scan details.
Below you see the Task overview page of the Thesis assessment Case. Follow the 3 steps in indicated order to finish this task.:
WAIT for the other reader/assessor to submit his/her assessment.
Once both readers/assessors have submitted their assessments, assessor 1 is invited to enter the Consensus report containing the agreed final result.
DON't FORGET to switch to menu Grade/Resultaat (upper left) where you can sign and send the grade (electronically).

Non-standard outcomes of the assessment
The exceptions below lead to various other tasks wich are supported within the Case.:
A.) Both assesment grades differ by more than 1,5 point. A third assessor must be brought in to provide an independent assessment.
B.) Assessor 1 or assessor 2 can file a suspicion of fraude. The examination board is notified, and the case is immediately put on hold until the examination board has reached a decision.
C.) No consensus is reached between assessor 1 and 2. A third assessor will be asked to provide an independent assessment.

After assessor 1 OR assessor 2 select the option 'suspicion of fraud' and submit their form:
> The examination board will be notified by email; automically send by the system.
> The Case is immediately put 'on hold' until the board have reached a decision.
If no concensus about the final grade is reached between assessor 1 and 2 this can be stated in the Concensus form. A new task is available in Osiris in which the first assessor must designate the third assessor. > See steps/pictures under exeption A.
